American Deluxe Barber Shop, Encinitas

I only put 5 stars because I have been coming to this location for the past 4 years and have had excellent service. But when I walked in just a minute after 5 to see all the barbers who normally cut my hair busy all at different stages of the service. I turn to the ATM to pull out cash and I hear behind me "hey are you doing any more cuts after him" which got responded with "no I'm done after this one" and asked across the line with the same question and response. The one asking the questions and who has cut my hair multiple times says " hey sorry man we close at 5, we will be open tomorrow". Not to mention everyone of the barbers there has cut my hair over the past 4 years. I just turned from the ATM and left. last I checked yall close at 5:30 on saturdays. This will make me rethink that

I've been going there for years. Rico is from a family of barbers. I always get great haircuts there, and the beard trims are great too. The staff is great. They do excellent work. They always review what kind of cut the customer wants before they start and when they finish they give the customer an opportunity to request any changes they might want. I often see parents bringing boys there for haircuts. All of the barbers seem happy to do haircuts for the kids and they have a good repor with them. The regular mens cut is $35 and well worth the price. Beard trims are $20. I do get a beard trim on holidays or other special occasions when I want to look extra great. You will look great when you leave.

Fantastic service at American Deluxe Barber. Barbers are all skilled and take time to ensure you have exactly what you want. Staff is friendly and accommodating. They are walk in, but we didn’t wait long. Prices are super reasonable. Will definitely be back again.

This chop shop was filthy. I had been here before a while back when it was somewhat new, and had a good experience. Today, I was killing some time and decided to get a cut. Walk in. No greeting. Hard plastic chairs to sit on like I'm at the DMV. The floor was covered in hair tapped up in little hair tumbleweeds on the entrance mat and literally everywhere. The floor was dirty with spill marks and scuff marks. Cabinets were looking worn and marker up. In every corner, around each station (even the 4 empty chairs that no hair was being cut). There was one chair being used that the base was actually clean on it... A spot opened up, the guy in front of me goes and sits down, the barber blew the hair on the ground that was there from the previous haircut everywhere away from the area he was in,
