I'm giving this place a two out of a five... my hair was very long and healthy before I came in... the Photo was after Justin had cut 6 inches in the back and a lot in the front... My hair touched my buttocks prior to the cut. I had scheduled for a balyage. I agreed that I wanted window bangs and layers to my hair. I didnt agree with the wrong hair color and a mullet hair cut. I paid for a service that I didn't receive... unfortunately the staff that did this was "new" to their business. I was able to work with Emily to fixed the cut but the damaged was done on my hair... we could not cut anymore and taper off. I was embarrassed to even go to the Christmas party even after the "fixed" cut... So I had to put it in a bun. Since so much hair was cut at the front... The color wasn't balyage

I’ve been going to Justin for almost 5 years now. Whenever I need a new hairstyle, fresh look or a new color Justin is always there to help. I love, love how he takes care of my hair and gives me recommendations to make me look more fabulous. Today I got a butterflycut with Justin and I am in love with how he styled it! Thank you love, I always appreciate coming to you and look forward to many more appointments. :)

Patrick has been cutting my hair for over a year, and he always does a fantastic job. Even my mother, who lives in Berkeley and is a snob, loved the haircut he gave her when she visited. In addition to being a great hairstylist, he is a warm person who offered me support when I was having a medical procedure. I can't recommend him enough.

Guys, hear me out — you have to book with Justin! He is seriously the best. He saved my hair after a disaster at a big-name salon. I went in with damaged hair and left feeling like myself again. I went to Amber+Slate for the first time today, and the place was lovely and the hair cut was good. When I went to check out, however, I was charged $50 for a conditioner treatment I don't remember requesting. When I asked about it, the stylist said quickly: "you agreed to it in the chair." I paid, but I honestly don't remember the interaction (and it was a short visit!). Paying 50% more than I was expecting, with no memory of agreeing, makes me feel like I have to be on guard next time I go. It was not a good way to end an otherwise lovely visit. I won't return.
