Aman Spa - Luxury Price, Limited Experience I booked a treatment at the Aman Spa to celebrate my birthday and came in with a $500 gift card, thinking that would comfortably cover a 60-minute massage. That assumption turned out to be overly optimistic. First surprise: there is a mandatory $100 “access fee.” Naturally, I asked what that included -- pool, relaxation lounge, teas, snacks, water, fitness facility access? The answer: none of those. The pool and fitness facility are reserved for hotel guests and members only. The access fee essentially allows you into the spa locker room so you can get to your treatment. I knew I would be short on time today and asked if I could skip the "facilities" (i.e. locker room) and just go straight to my treatment upon arrival. Unfortunately, the $100
Aman Spa New York—solid, refined, exactly what you’d expect. This place is well done clean, spacious, and designed with that understated luxury Aman is known for. The massage was on point, no complaints there. My only issue? The music or ambient sound in the massage room. It just didn’t hit the way it should. When you’re at a place like this, you expect everything to be dialed in, and that part felt a little off. Other than that, the experience is exactly what you’d expect from a high-level spa in New York discreet, well-run, and no unnecessary frills.
2.5 stars Read this if you’re thinking of buying a day pass: I think the spa is only enjoyable if you are a guest or a member. Day pass holders get little access to amenities and each staff member has different information about it. If I’m paying an “access fee” I should have access to more than just the lockers. At similar spa/hotels/members clubs I’ve always had access to their gym but not here. I did manage to be invited to the pool but when I checked in I was told I’d only have access to the locker room and treatment room. The facial I had was fantastic and the specialist who did it was also a joy. Super knowledgeable, personable, and skilled. Enjoyed my treatment very much. That said I’ve had good facials at very nice clubs around the world and none of them were 700$ and I could use t
This review is not about the quality of Aman’s service, which I have no doubt is excellent, but about the customer experience I had while purchasing a gift certificate Aman Spa — and the fact that I still haven’t been able to resolve my issue. Please share an email address or a customer service contact where I can describe my case. Thank you.
Spent all day at the spa yesterday for my wife’s birthday. The spa itself is beautiful and everything is designed so well. Now for the bad/question marks… I frequent luxury spas all over the world and especially NYC. I was expecting this to be like something i never experienced before. An out of this world experience but unfortunately it was very far from that. I was not impressed by the facilities/amenities. Aside of the pool being beautiful, the facilities were small and unimpressive. They miss so many details. No relaxation room, no snacks, water, teas etc, literally nothing. Try to relax in the sauna steam room area but unfortunately it was so busy and overrun with there members coming in after work to shower change get ready for dinner etc. I could not even find a place to sit and
