First and foremost, the staff was very kind, but overall I didn’t have a great experience. I scheduled a cut and perm appointment weeks in advance via email. On the morning of my appointment, I realized I never received a text confirmation, so I called to double check. Unfortunately, I was told that my appointment details had never been saved. They did offer an opening later at 2:00 PM, which I accepted, though coming from NYC it was inconvenient and required rearranging my afternoon plans. When I arrived, the stylist was very friendly, but there was another mix up, he believed I was only scheduled for a cut, not a perm. While he was able to fit just the perm in, I think the time constraints led to a much looser perm, used larger and less rods than what I had requested. I specifically ask

****IT’S WORTH THE WAIT**** If you’re a new client, you’ll have to wait at least two months for a color appointment because of how busy they are. Most stylists there are pre-booked by their clients with appointments spanning from 6 months to 1 year out…. Like myself. My recommendation is to get in the rotation, don’t miss your appointment, schedule ahead of time and you will NEVER be disappointed. You can’t expect to see stylists in high demand within a days notice, it just doesn’t work like that! So don’t let that to detour you from making your appointment. Akane is the BEST SALON in the North New Jersey Area, IMO! I’ve done various services with them over the years from bleaching, cutting and perms and have NEVER been disappointed. Yani’s the beeeest~~ absolutely knew what I was aiming for and she hit it dead center when I explained what look and feel I wanted my hair color! I’ve been coming here since I before college—I’m 39 and live where it wouldn’t make sense to come here and yet! lol Eriko is a master sculptor the way she etches some of the best silhouettes that have gotten me JOBS! BOYFRIENDS, and LIFE EXPERIENCE! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND

A Japanese style salon in Fort Lee. 3 Japanese stylists were there when I visited and a few non Japanese staffs. I had haircut and permanent and total bill was US$ 110 excluding the tip. I think it’s reasonable considering it’s still NY area. I’m happy about the outcome of my hairstyle too.

I got my hair cut done twice from hair stylist Suri! My order is a bit weird hair style but she does a Perfect job!!✨I just love her techniques! She is very gentle when she washes my hair and blows nicely and what I most appreciate is the hair cut! 💇‍♀️ I am very picky person and probably not an easy customer but her attention to small details is great!! 💓 I love that! It’s hard to find a good hairstylist like her! Also Akane hair salon has been great for the cost! I appreciate the affordable cost too!
