African Hair Braiding

We had an excellent experience! We were a little late, Mamaah was understanding and still very sweet to us. My daughter got small box braids by Cee and she is extremely happy. Ignore the negative reviews on this page!!! Mamaah is a wonderful lady and she aims to please all of her clients. I wish I could give her 10 stars! We are customers for life. Thank you Mamaah!!!

I paid for a crochet protective style, the owner’s daughter started the braid pattern, the owner took over and allowed her daughter to finish. Less than a week the braids began to loosen. I was upset she offered to fix it. I live over an hour away, I explained. A crochet style should definitely last at least 6-8 weeks depending on how one maintains their style However; less than a week is unsatisfactory service. It’s a shame to loose clientele for greed of money. I definitely don’t recommend anyone spending their time and money there! Sadly, I tipped them 20%.

Been going to Mama for years and she never disappoints! Quick, professionally done, and great times. We laugh and listen to African music which is such a refreshing vibe.

Positive vibes and energy at the shop. She was very professional, friendly, quick, and my head was not sore once she was finished. The style I asked for is what I got. While driving to my appt. It was 50 mins away with traffic and I said I probably wouldn’t be back due to the drive. But after the service I received I will definitely be back!!! Thank you!!

Do not get me wrong, my hair was done in a timely fashion and in the style, box braids, how I requested, however I am disappointed in the outcome. I know my hair and specifically asked before I showed up if they knew how to tuck my hair because it will puff up from the braids if it's not tucked (natural hair problems). They said yes. 2 days ago made a week since I got it done, and in spite of my efforts wrapping my hair every night, using silk caps, etc, my hair will not last more than another week and a half max because of how much it puffed. For $200, it most definitely should've lasted longer than this. If you don't have the same issues, then this place would great for you. I am not saying they aren't good hair stylists, I'm just saying they weren't a good match for MY hair texture. (th
