Absolute Weave Works

As a Jamaican that finds it difficult to find salons that remind me of home sadly this will never be an option. After my third service, I will never return and I’m here to warn whoever is reading (-5 stars if I could). I booked a “Closure Sew-In” on a Saturday and was told to provide my own hair. I came washed and blow- dried. During the service I asked the stylist if she is going to bleach the closure she said “No I have something else for that” and pulls out a weird makeup set. Hours after the service is done, the glued down closure began to lift then I noticed the glue the stylist used that has the “Absolute Weave Works” logo was in my edges. This took an hour to remove with shampoo. While attempting to fix the closure I notice when trying to pull it forward it would NOT move pass my ed

So at some point I was going to this salon to get my hair done for prom and they were always cute. Fast forward to now I went and provided my own lace wig, the woman did not make an effort to actually make my wig look good, there was no cap on my head for one. Two she sewed thread onto my hair which can pull it out. It really seemed like she was just trying to get me in and out the chair without any effort to even try to blend the lace in with my scalp. My edges were out and I mean my actual edges. She tried to put make up on my scalp to blend it in and it did not help at all. Honestly she did horrible, I can do a wig install better than that. I was being super nice and didn’t say anything and just left after she was finished because I was willing to try and fix it but it’s impossible. A

Absolutely love my hair. Shernette did my sew in beautifully! I came back and had Carlene style it for a work event and it's gorgeous! I will definitely be returning to get my hair done often!

I’ve been going here for about eight years. I go a few times a year to get my sew in complete. The employees are very nice. My major concern is the hair the shop sells. I don’t usually buy the shop hair but I didn’t get a chance to go to the hair store before my appointment. I purchased two packs and within two days it’s sticking up in every direction. I have to blow dry it every morning and brush it. Right now I went to the hair store l and bought better hair and took this weave out! It literally looks like a birds nest within seconds of taking it out! The hair was the worst! I just got my hair done less than a month ago. It was taking ten minutes every morning to get it together.

I booked a partial weave install with the owner on my birthday (10/25). Upon arrival, I was told she was busy with something else, and when she finally began my service, she seemed frustrated. The braiding process was uncomfortable and painful, and the added braiding hair appeared unwashed, causing my scalp to itch. One track was glued instead of sewn, the entire install is bulky all around my head, and not enough leave-out was provided—making the tracks visible, especially since I’m only 5ft tall. I was also charged extra for flat ironing, and the cut was uneven. Overall, I’m disappointed with the experience and would advise others to use caution when booking with new salons.
