I had been searching for a “home” for my hair care. Three years ago, the stylist I was seeing regularly transitioned out from working behind the chair. While I was genuinely happy for her, I also knew that meant I’d be on the hunt for a new place to call home—not just for professional styling, but for proper scalp care too. Over the past three years, my hair has been through a lot of transitions while I searched for a new stylist/salon. I randomly came across AAL Texture Salon Co. on Instagram and fell in love with Al Campbell’s work. I booked with him and prayed this would be it—that I had finally found a safe place for me and my hair. My first appointment went amazing. I honestly can’t say enough good things about Al. I came in with my hair in really rough shape and feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and unsure of what was going to happen. From the very beginning, Al was incredibly calm, kind, and professional. He took the time to really educate me about my hair health, explaining everything step by step throughout the process. He didn’t rush, didn’t judge, and made sure I understood what my hair needed and why. What stood out the most was how safe and comfortable he made me feel. It was so easy to trust him with my hair because of how knowledgeable, gentle, and patient he was. You can tell he truly cares about the health of his clients’ hair, not just the end result.
