A Cut Above The Rest

Revised review - businesses that reach out to correct human errors have my respect (everyone has a bad day). Am glad I decided to go back after a sub par 1st experience. I recommend going to Doc (and avoiding the other older gentleman, can't speak for the lady). Received one of the most detailed and careful haircuts. Doc took his time. One of the best haircuts I've had. Great value! You've won me over as a regular.

I booked a hair cut through Groupon and got a great discount. I showed my barber "Doc" a couple pictures of the hairstyle I was going for and he said he could do it. Doc cut and styled my hair and explained different barber terminology I was curious about. We talked about the fashion trends and he told me I would be ahead of the crowd this summer. edit: I went back without the Groupon discount and paid $4 more but had a worse experience. I was told "yeah, yeah, I know how to cut hair I've been doing it for 40 years." and "I really don't get why people show pictures of the haircut they want" after I had to stop the ol dude before he went to town loping all my hair off. 2nd edit: got several compliments on my haircut a couple days after coming by here even though he worked on my hair for l

The barbers here do a great job. I was a customer of Rachel's when she worked at a chain barbershop and I followed her because of how great of a job she does. I am picky about my hair and took over 3 years to find a barber I liked in St Louis and she is probably the best barber I've had anywhere. She always asks a ton of questions to make sure your hair is exactly as you like it and is always willing to keep working until you are happy. She'll even offer to help you with styling and product recommendations to make sure you get the look you want. You'll get better service here then you will at a high end salon and you'll get it at a great price. Can't recommend enough.

Very reasonably priced (especially compared to the salon on campus), and staff is so friendly and skilled! I came in to trim my bangs, and she made sure that the length was perfect several times so that they were not too long or too short. I also requested that she cut my hair dry since it is very wavy and she did a great job, and my hair is pretty difficult for most professionals. Also cut my hair even though I got there a little before opening which was very kind. Will be returning!
