A Cut Above (Columbia Mall)

I was a walk in. I was greeted promptly as I wake in the establishment. They had a check in process that you scan with your phone. After completion I was led into an open chair. I was getting a shaped up with beard trim. The Barber did a great job, I was able to pay with cashapp. The place was clean. There was music playing. The decor was nice.

Took my brother there for a badly needed shave and haircut. We walked in and they were able to accommodate us- that's why this gets 2 stars. After an hour, my brother comes out with a decent haircut (he said he had to ask the guy twice to cut the top short also) and the absolute worst shave ever. His skin was broken in spots and the beard was still not shaved clean. It looked like a 5 year old tried to cut the hair off a doll. We shouldn't have been asked to pay for the shave.

A Cut Above Barbershop in Columbia is truly a cut above the rest! They’ve been cutting my hair since 2000 — now my son goes too. Kino is top notch. My son refuses to let anyone else cut his hair! The service, skill, and professionalism have stayed consistent for decades. Highly recommend!

As someone who is very particular about my haircut, I have struggled to for 3year to find the right barber until I found Amo. He is the real deal. He is always on time, very consistent, humble, and professional. I count myself lucky to call him my barber.

Worst haircut of my life. Showed reference photos but did not look like anything I wanted at all. For context, I just wanted a simple undercut and a trim for my fringe. (Look at photos for the disastrous aftermath) Bro had me lookin like Nobita from Doraemon iykyk. ‘Stylist’ was so rough with the clippers it started hurting my scalp. He literally did me so dirty by cutting my fringe horizontally, and left it super untidy and uneven. Went so deep with the undercut it seemed like he was giving me a bowl cut on purpose. Like, where did you get licensed? Are you even licensed? Bro didn’t even look like he wanted to be there.
